The Lifeguarding Instructor Course trains instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course and related Aquatic courses. The course combines eLearning with on-site skills sessions. Candidates must complete the eLearning program prior to participating in the course. Minimum age to participate is 17 by the course conclusion. Candidates are expected to be fully knowledgeable about skills and information from the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program and be proficient in demonstrating these skills to the Red Cross standard. Time is not allocated in the course for practice or review. Candidates are required to pass a pre-course skill session at the start of class to be eligible to participate in the course. Candidates must be registered with a personal email and phone number to receive course information and instructions to access the pre-course eLearning program. Candidates are required to present a photo ID/proof of age, current Red Cross Lifeguarding certification and bring a pocket mask. Most weekend classes are scheduled from 4:00-9:00pm on Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm Saturday and Sunday. Most weekday classes are scheduled from 8:00am-5:00pm daily.
